Resistance is the enemy. Make no mistake about it.
Most of us have two lives, the life we live and the unlived life within us. Between the two stands resistance. When I read these words from the author, Steven Pressfield, The War of Art, it was a gut punch. Another common word for fear is resistance. Resistance can be paralyzing as if you are doggy paddling in quicksand. Kids – Don’t try this at home!
My love, what dream are you resisting, dragging your feet on, or putting off until, “Someday?”
Pressfield says fear is a good sign. It’s an indicator that tells us what we have to do. Remember one rule of thumb: the more scared we are of work or a calling, the more sure we can be that we have to do it.
What is keeping you from doing what you long to do?
It’s a great question, one that I encourage you to explore. Once you face your resistance, you can create solutions to move forward. Your dream is worth the inner battle! What do I know for sure? Nothing or no one will stop me from living an extraordinary life. Not even myself.
Don’t cheat us of your contribution. Give us what you got. – Steven Pressfield, Author, The War of Art: Break Through the Blocks and Win Your Inner Creative Battles
